Widget Customization
Customize the look, feel, and behavior of your chat widget.
Theme Settings
From Widget Config in your dashboard, you can customize:
- Primary Color — The main accent color for the widget button and header - Border Radius — Control how rounded the widget corners are - Position — Place the widget in the bottom-left or bottom-right of the page - Theme Mode — Choose light or dark mode to match your site
Welcome Message
Set a welcome message that greets visitors when they open the chat. This appears as the first message in the conversation, before the visitor types anything. Use it to set expectations about what the widget can help with.
Suggested Questions
Configure up to 4 suggested questions that appear as clickable buttons when the chat opens. These help visitors get started and showcase what your knowledge base covers. Choose questions that demonstrate the widget's value.
System Prompt
The system prompt controls how the AI responds — its tone, personality, and constraints. Examples:
- "Always be friendly and concise" - "Focus on technical accuracy and include code examples when relevant" - "If the answer isn't in the provided context, say so instead of guessing"
The system prompt is combined with retrieved document context on every query.
LLM Provider
Choose which language model powers your widget:
- Anthropic Claude — Strong at nuanced, accurate responses - OpenAI GPT — Versatile and widely-used - Google Gemini — Good for multi-modal and long-context tasks - OpenRouter — Access to many open-source models
Each website can use a different provider. Switch anytime from the Widget Config page.
